Having immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) means there’s a shortage of platelets in your blood. When you have ITP, it means your platelet count needs a lift. If you’ve had low platelet counts for over a year, you may have what’s called long-term or “chronic” ITP.
Steroids are usually the first step in ITP prescriptions, but they can have unwanted side effects.
Doptelet is not a steroid—it is a TPO-RA (thrombopoietin receptor agonist) that can lift your platelet count. The best part? Unlike other oral TPO-RA treatments, you can choose your dosing schedule, and take it with any kind of food, no matter where you are. Before taking Doptelet, tell your doctor about your medical conditions, including if you’ve ever had a blood clot, are pregnant or plan to be. #FoodRequired

Your body has a natural signal that tells it to make enough platelets for you; it’s a hormone called “thrombopoietin” or TPO.
When the signal from your TPO isn’t strong enough to make the number of platelets you need, Doptelet acts alongside your natural TPO. It sends a strong signal that tells your body to lift your platelet count and keep it lifted.
Platelets are the part of the blood that helps stop and prevent bleeding.
Yes, ITP is an autoimmune condition. If you have ITP, it means your own immune system is attacking the platelets in your body, leaving your platelet counts low. Having a low platelet count can increase the risk of bleeding or bruising. Sometimes ITP causes other symptoms like fatigue or purpura, a condition where red or purple spots appear on the skin.
